Product Description

Mark Crook was arguably English football’s greatest scout. After playing for Wolves in the 1930s, Crook returned to his native Yorkshire where he set up the Wath Wanderers nursery club, from which an incredible 114 players progressed to play elite level football. Most of these players spent time at Molineux as youth team players, with 39 of them progressing to play for Wolves’ first team (12 of these were in the War League).

Feeding the Wolves tells the story of the South Yorkshire football factory that produced Ron Flowers, Alan Sunderland, Steve Daley and Bob Hatton. Author, Ashley Ball secured over fifty interviews including Alan Sunderland. All of the proceeds from book sales will be shared between the Wolves Foundation and Brampton United JFC (the club that play on the site of Wath Wanderers).
